It was certainly big news when H&M announced that Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo would be doing a line for the Swedish chain, available in stores this November. Now, W has a sneak preview and more info about the men's and women's collection, which the forward designer describes at “pure Comme des Garçons.” From the fashion pub, the line is "Mostly black and with Japanese tomboy airs...includes a range of tailored jackets, many deconstructed, along with cropped pants, baggy shorts and a variety of skirts in stretch wool. On the perkier side are polkadot knits in jersey or merino wool, colorful shirts—some with dots—and a 'showpiece' coatdress decorated here and there with dense Victorian ruffles."
The kids clothes initially discussed were a no-go, as Kawakubo "didn't feel like it," according to H&M's Margareta van den Bosch, but there is a unisex fragrance "with notes of cedar and patchouli," as well as accessories.
