Kitson is going even more global in the next 18 months. Adding onto its Dubai location, per WWD, owner Fraser Ross "..plans to open a store in Tokyo in March and two more Japanese locations..." We've mentioned the 15,000-square-foot outpost set to open this fall at Americana at Brand and the 7,000-square-foot, two-level Melrose shop, opening in fall as well. We didn't know that Ross "plans to launch men's and kids' stores in the Malibu Lumberyard shopping center and will move the existing kids' store on Robertson Boulevard to a larger, 4,000-square-foot space on the popular retail strip." Overseas sales are more than 20% of Kitson's online biz, per the trade, with Japan and Germany (who knew?) being particularly successful markets for the retailer. [WWD, subscription req]
