Fresh & Easy's Meaty Opening

The grocery chain's Manhattan Beach opening yesterday marked its largest debut yet with close to 2,600 customers. And, yes, as we saw, there were a ton of shoppers waiting to bustle in. Per PR Newswire, shoppers were buying a lot o' meat: "Fresh & Easy's 'grill pack' sold particularly well, in only 12 hours customers purchased nearly 1,400 units. The 'grill pack' is almost five pounds and includes an assortment of high quality beef patties, mild pork sausages and lightly chili-seasoned chicken—it sells for only $4.99 through July 8th."
