Speaking of Shepard Fairey, the LA-based street artist is auctioning one of three fine art versions of the Obama "Hope" poster, at the request of Russell Simmons to benefit Simmons' Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation—specifically, for the annual Art For Life event—online via Charity Buzz. The 4-foot by 6-foot mixed media stencil collage on cotton rag paper "Obama Hope, 2008" will be online through Tuesday, July 16 at noon. Though this is just the beginning, per the release: "The Art For Life auction ends Tuesday...Then the online budding is closed and the highest bidders are invited to bid by phone during the live auction on July 19. Entering the online auction is the only way to enter the live auction." The current bid is $32,777.77. [RackedWire]
