In the former Publik Park space on La Brea, just up from American Rag, & Still Clothing has just opened up, which carries never-worn vintage sports gear. Per the LA Times, shop owner Jeremy Shapiro—who left a career in real estate for retail—has outfitted the shop to match the merch: "The lofty store feels as if it's a clubhouse with lockers, stadium seats, AstroTurf and even a boxing ring, where Shapiro hopes to hold musical performances and book signings. An old-school Atari video game is a bonus."
Notable pieces include a "'92 Dream Team basketball T-shirt ($92)...an L.A. Rams Starter jacket in satiny blue ($225)" and "A 1987 Mike Tyson Atlantic City fight is memorialized on the front of a black satin hat ($100)." Lakers gear from the '80s and '90s is also in stock. It's an expansive shop. When Publik Park was still there, we wondered how difficult it would be to swing the rent. For Shapiro's sake, we hope he has better luck with the retail space and & Still is still standing next year.
