Not Barack himself for her spring '09 collection. The designer refuted reports that she "dedicated" the collection to Obama. Per FWD, a Versace spokesperson clarified: "it was the type of man Barack Obama represents that inspired the Spring 2009 collection...A modern man with a laid back relaxed look/attitude." The pub asserts: "Indeed, nowhere in the Versace press release nor in her presentation was there any indication of any direct influence by Obama."
