Would Barack Rock Versace?

If you haven't read already, Donatella Versace dedicated her spring/summer 2009 menswear collection to Barack Obama. Per The Canadian Press via LAT, the collection was designed for "a relaxed man who doesn't need to flex muscles to show he has power." And yes, if not European, you have to be a man comfortable with your power to pull off frothy silk shirts and "slim trousers with slick techno-fabric sheen." The suits in the collection have "a structured jacket softened by a double lapel or no lapel at all..." Whether Barack would wear any part of Versace s/s '09 doesn't matter though, his fashion cred has just gotten as ample as Donatella's plump lips. Between this and the Calvin Klein dinner put on by Andre Leon Talley for Michelle Obama, this is one fashion-y couple. [LAT]
