Washington Boulevard, South of Downtown LA, is looking toward big-box retailer additions to connect the area to Downtown. Curbed reports the plans include "Housing, big box retail, and smaller neighborhood tenants, among other things." Think Target, Starbucks, Best Buy, Bed, Bath and Beyond, and "An 120-unit affordable housing development with retail on ground floor." Cecilia Estolano, CEO of the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), told Curbed: "The idea is to link together South Park and downtown’s residential areas and USC and South LA with this retail corridor.” Though, these plans are four years down the road, Curbed notes, according to a CRA manager.
