Market Watch: South Park Flea Market Gets Produce

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We noticed that South Park Flea Market had gotten a snazzy new site, or, rather, we were informed that the new site was up by Flea market newsletter, which landed in our inbox. Phillip Dane, who's in charge, has absolutely been making big efforts to make the market a success. The latest is that South Park has been approved as a certified farmers' market. Per the newsletter: "It took some doing but the South Park Farmers' Market got official approval today! Pharmaka Gallery will be the sponsor of the market and we are currently in the process of lining up the 15 farmers we need to launch to market." As the market has been working to really get off the ground, this is an incredible addition to the vendors. Also, added to the roster of late, are live performances. Johnny from Kings are next. The South Park Flea Market is open Sundays from 9am-4pm at the corner of 8th and Grand.
