Chanel boutique on Robertson Boulevard in construction last weekend

If you're Pau Gasol, then, yes, Derek Fisher is a little guy, but put the rest of world next to Fisher and he's a 6'1" 210-pound barrel-chested athlete. That's a little bit what it's like to read about Chanel's "scaled-down," 5,395-square-foot, two-floor Robertson Boulevard boutique, which "includes a huge landscaped courtyard bordering the main floor," via a Los Angeles Times article today. That's still a whopper of a boutique!

We've been following the progress of the shop (just snapped this construction pic above this past weekend), slowly gleaning more info. From this particular article, the new news is that "The boutique, which opens Friday [May 30], is the first in a new breed of smaller shops for the company that zero in on the season's trends and the neighborhood ...Depending on how business shakes out on Robertson... the company is likely to replicate the small-store concept in London, Paris and Tokyo." Paparazzi, start revving your engines!
