Party (S)hopping: Esquivel Shoes Shows Its New Digs

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Last night, Esquivel Shoes celebrated the opening of its by appointment-only B.Spoke shop, tucked away off the alley, north of West 3rd Street and behind menswear boutique Douglas Fir. The showroom is one of those retail spaces you wish you could move into—open with high wood-beamed ceilings, a lofty feeling without being a loft. The courtyard is also a nice touch. There's also tons of different shoe styles on display already—some great shoe porn for the fellas—as well as bags and other small leather goods. Designer George Esquivel was there and told Racked he opened up shop in the area because he was losing some customers by having all his operation in Orange County. Though he's keeping somewhat of a low profile by being appointment only, he's no doubt going to garner attention and increased business (including improved access to his celeb clientele) in the neighborhood which just continues to grow.
