The latest Kate Moss collection for Topshop, High Summer '08, launched today. It's quite extensive with 78 pieces online—floaty dresses and blouses, beaded tops, skinny jeans, short-shorts, vests, tanks, a catsuit, capelets, little jackets, a couple print bikinis, ranging from around $12 for a tank to $300 for a long dress. Some initial reactions are below:
From Fashionista: "We appear to be the only ones still craving new pieces. While Kate should be embarrassed by a couple of the items, I'm madly in love with the Frill Sleeve Dress, Natalie's obsessed with the Mirrored Hotpant... and we both want the Open Side Beaded Top." [Fashionista]
From The Fashion Police: "Overall, not a bad collection, with some nice pieces, but with the exception of the 50s sun dress, which we've always loved, we don't see much to get us reaching for The Fashion Police credit card." [The Fashion Police]
The Cut reports, in London "Within the first hour and a half, 250 red pansy dresses were sold. Other hot sellers included a striped fifties-style 'prom' frock and a Rajasthan-style printed cotton halter-neck dress. Though we were not thrilled with Kate's last Topshop collection, the ratio of potential hits to misses this go-round is far better...For example, this flapper dress could look great. However, the denim hot pants make it look as though the line might have been gotten that special Heidi Montag touch." [The Cut]
