Natalie Portman could literally make a potato sack look good; she'd throw on a wide belt and some heels and convince you that the sack silhouette is the shape of the moment. So, it's not a big surprise she looks great in a pair of shorts—specifically, LA-based designer Jenni Kayne's black tuxedo shorts from her spring/summer '08 collection—while working the press in Cannes. We happen to think these are a great pair of shorts however, dressy with a satin stripe and flattering pleats ($325), and actually available at Kayne's recently-minted, eco- and architecturally-significant boutique in West Hollywood. The shorts also come in white linen and an ivory/gray plaid; there's a similar olive pair available (shown above right) as well. If nothing else, take the opp to check out the boutique.
