Project Runway
finalist and LA designer Rami Kashou hasn't yet made his HSN appearance—that will be later tonight—but the dress he'll be selling is already available online. On the left, we have a look from the designer's fall/winter '08 collection; on the right, we have Kashou's $280 Grecian Goddess Drape Dress for Scoop for HSN. Of course, there is a difference between what's shown at Bryant Park and what "can be worn by all ages and all body types," per the description, and comes in sizes XS-XXL. Definitely a design challenge. We'd prefer runway Rami, but the HSN number does have some nice draping and detailing, which comes in black, lime, teal (shown above), or wine.

Kashou, after all, has much experience designing for all types of women; profiled in a recent LA Weekly article, part of the paper's special LA People '08 edition, we learn, "At age 10 he was designing dresses for his stepmom and her friends and neighbors." Kashou told the paper: "The ladies would come over for coffee, and I’d sketch for them. I’d skip homework and sketch until 3 or 4 in the morning." In addition to HSN, he's now onto his spring line, "feminine separates in softened sorbet colors, like lavender and mint, filled with ruffles and flounces."
