After a two-year hiatus from Los Angeles since closing its Melrose boutique, Miu Miu opened its new 3,200-square-foot shop on Rodeo Drive last weekend. Per Women's Wear Daily, the shop "features 25-foot ceilings and skylights and green silk brocade draping the walls and ceiling—coverings that are interchangeable and designed to incorporate colors from the latest collection," and "will house an exclusive capsule collection, a mixture of select spring-summer and fall-winter 2008 pieces," along with "the full Miu Miu ready-to-wear line as well as handbags and other accessories." The fashion trade notes that Miu Miu is becoming increasingly luxe, reflected by shoes that start at $380 and apparel and handbags that run into the four digits. Miu Miu's Global Head of Communications Tomaso Galli told the pub: "We were not happy with the results on Melrose, and we wanted to be where the other big luxury brands were—on Rodeo." Will Vanessa Paradis make an appearance any time soon?
