The rooftop at Blü; a look from Bill Blass New York summer '08 collection
Before you pencil this in your calendar, be forewarned the following is an invite-only affair, but interesting nonetheless. Blü Beverly Hills—the 11-story office building converted into 37 posh one- and two-bedroom rentals at 8601 Wilshire Boulevard (at North Stanley Drive)—is hosting a Bill Blass New York summer '08 collection showcase/trunk show Sunday, May 4 from 4pm-7:30pm on its lounge-y rooftop. Sure, it's about selling the collection, but it's also clearly about leasing those $4,000-$7,000/month units. From the press release: "After the show, guests will have opportunity to view the Bill Blass New York collection first hand at the private onsite showroom and tour the luxury residences at blü." If only we could reach back in time and grab Bill for the event; dubbed "The King of the Road" in Susan Orlean's famous New Yorker piece, Blass was the trunk show master. Try and RSVP to Linel Cooper at 310-564-1932 if you're so inclined.
