A fellow retailer in the area of Aldine Books on Hollywood Boulevard, just east of Vermont, gives us some scoop on the long-time bookshop: "Word is out that Ira is getting booted out of his place of business of many, many years. And he's saying that some clothing company is taking over both the stores and the huge parking building in the back. Is it American apparel? Who knows? Also Maya is also moving in about several spaces down from there as Camille Hudson shoes simply disappeared." Hm, American Apparel may be a likely culprit at 4665 Hollywood Boulevard, Aldine's being at 4663 Hollywood Boulevard. A staffer at that AA location did say the store is doing a little remodeling, but said the shop is not expanding into Aldine's space. Said they didn't know Aldine's was closing. [Racked Inbox]
