Another installment of Storecasting, where we keep you posted on shops opening near you. Got some retail scoop? Send it our way—pics, tips—we want it all.
Japanese urban streetwear company A Bathing Ape is finally taking its place on Melrose Avenue—the second stateside shop after NYC. Formerly the home of CoSTUME NATIONAL, the large space has been empty for over a year as rumors flew around town of what would be moving in. Staff said they’ve had the space the entire time and only now are opening up shop. Wednesday night is the opening party, strictly for media and celeb friends, so they expect to shut down the corner of Melrose and Edinburgh. The owners modestly refrained from naming the celebrity guests but a construction worker told Racked he over heard “that some Kanye West fella is coming.” Doors open to the public April 25th at noon.
