Mariah Carey was at Universal City Walk yesterday to promote her E=MC² album and left fans high-and-dry after promised autographs. Per the press release: "Mariah Carey will walk the red carpet to the CityWalk stage to sign autographs for fans wearing wristbands. Music store F.Y.E. will be on-site to give out wristbands...to the first 1,000 guests who come with their pre-purchased E=MC² voucher from participating F.Y.E. stores." What happened? Hollyscoop reports, "Hundreds of fans showed up at Universal City Walk... But dozens were left waiting hours for her to show up, and they ended up leaving with nothing. Mimi showed up to the event two hours late, and then at a certain point decided she was over it, and got up and left... That's no way to treat your fans!" Uh, that's no way to sell records. But don't knock her too much, she was probably delirious with hunger after losing that recent 20 pounds. [Hollyscoop]
