Above the Fray: Hot Sales at Built by Wendy and Seaton

This weekend was a scorcher with 90-degree temps, but that didn't stop people from hitting the streets early to score samples and other major discounts. At Built by Wendy, there was an extensive sample sale with tons of spring and summer-friendly separates and dresses for women. Though the men's selections weren't as copious, there were still two significant racks in the back room, and a wall of shelves of menswear. Future recommendation: Overall, a nice and ample selection—even the atmosphere felt less stark and more inviting than BBW usually feels.

Over at Seaton on Melrose Avenue, this weekend marked the boutique's first-ever parking lot sale. Everything was a bargain here, with frilled tube tops for $5, tees and shorts for $8, pants and blazers for $15, and dresses for $20. Future rec: Next time Seaton takes it to the parking lot, definitely check it out. [RackedWire]
