Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

In its first collaboration collection ever, British textile designer Celia Birtwell is creating a line of dresses ($128) and blouses ($79.50) for Express (pictured via LA Times), which will be available April 7 in select stores, including Beverly Center, South Coast Plaza, and Glendale Galleria. Birtwell is known for creating designs for ex-husband designer Ossie Clark, who dressed Twiggy, among others. The LA Times describes the collection, as "true to Clark's style: fluid and sheer, with the flora and fauna that are Birtwell trademarks." WWD describes the feel of the collection as an "updated bohemian vibe." This is the first of four Birtwell minicollections for Express, the second of which will hit stores in July. Per WWD, Birtwell will also be "launching a line for Topshop in June, as well as a line for British sporting goods chain Millet's in May."
