Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
The holiday shopping parties are revving up around the city, filled with promises of merriment and good deals. And though holly is great and all, it's clear that retailers are hoping you'll deck the halls with new merch. We'll let you know about those of interest, and even if your pocketbook is not exactly overflowing, you can at least grab some spiked punch along the way.
The Avenues of Art & Design—composed of 300-plus West Hollywood boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and businesses in and around Melrose Avenue, and Robertson and Beverly Boulevards—is hosting its first-ever Holiday Walk of the Avenues this Thursday, December 11, from 6pm-9pm. Expect drinks flowing, hors d'oeuvres, roaming Santas and carolers, and, of course, deals.
The list of participants is long and distinguished (from Alberta Ferretti and Phillip Lim to Steven Alan and HLNR), so we'll just give you some highlights, including 40% at Sheila and 20% at Beckley, Kitson Men, John Varvatos, Bel Bambini and Le Bra. There will be 'Friskie Fairies' at lingerie haven Coco de Mer. Free blow outs and product at Marco Pelusi Salon. And for amusement, there will be fitness models, and 'Hunky Santa and the Candy Cane Girls' from 7pm-9pm at Sunstyle. For more info, check the Avenues of Art & Design site. [RackedWire]
