Dr. C. Alan Bittner took going green to new pastures. We learn from Forbes via Ecorazzi that the Beverly Hills lipo doctor "removed the unwanted fat from his patients, processed it, and used the resulting biodiesel to fuel his Ford SUV and his girlfriend’s Lincoln Navigator." Apparently, there is a law on the books in California which makes it illegal to use medical waste to power vehicles, but, at the very least (we guess), Bittner got approval from the patients. From the doc's now shutdown site, lipodiesel.com:

“The vast majority of my patients request that I use their fat for fuel–and I have more fat than I can use...Not only do they get to lose their love handles or chubby belly but they get to take part in saving the Earth.”

Bittner is under investigation with CA's public health department. Per Ecorazzi: "he closed shop earlier and high-tailed it down to South America for 'volunteer work at a clinic' after patients complained that he 'removed too much fat from [them] and left them disfigured.'"

On a side note, is anyone else disturbed by the fact that you can get your 'buffalo hump' lipo-ed?
