Jason Wu Exclusives and Fur

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Jason Wu aims to cater to his customers with his new Exclusives collection. WWD reports the collection will include three dresses, two jackets, a knitted cardigan, a knitted T-shirt and a skirt, and "will be made available in more than 15 colors and fabrics that stores can secure as their exclusive. The fabric options include seasonless cashmeres and silk." Wu will also be incorporating fur (primarily minks mixed with fabric), under a license with Saga Furs, for fall 2009. Wu told the pub: "We wanted to do a 15-piece fur collection that isn’t just about fur coats, but also fur pieces that blend in with the collection." We got excited for a second thinking Exclusives might be a wee bit affordable, but it will wholesale for $390-$780. A fur illustration right. [WWD, subscription req]
