Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
One of our favorite modern lifestyle and design shops A+R has released its first co-branded product in collaboration with Japanese artist Nobuhiro Sato: a set of trivets and coasters cast from concrete (Sato is known for his concrete planters), which display an exact 1/1,200 scale of maps of Silver Lake and Venice, reflective of A+R's retail locales.
You can buy the pieces individually ($16 for a coaster; $26 for a trivet) or as a set of four coasters and a trivet for $65—a particularly fantastic gift for denizens of the two areas, but desirable for anyone who wants to make a tabletop chicer.
