Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
The holiday shopping parties are revving up around the city, filled with promises of merriment and good deals. And though holly is great and all, it's clear that retailers are hoping you'll deck the halls with new merch. We'll let you know about those of interest, and even if your pocketbook is not exactly overflowing, you can at least grab some spiked punch along the way.
One of our favorite boutiques, TenOverSix, which has proved to be good for a party, will be hosting a night of shopping, music and promises "There Will Be Booze" Wednesday, December 17 from 5pm-9pm. Henry Wolfe and Tay Strathairn will perform, with fall markdowns up to 60% off, plus 10% off everything, and 20% off non-sale items if you bring a toy for Toys for Tots.
There's also lots of new merch, including lingerie from The Lake and Stars; Georgina Goodman heels; vintage Pierre Cardin backgammon sets; vintage heels from Via Davia, Charles Jourdan, Halston, and Maud Frizon; limited-edition fragrances by Six Scents by Bernard Wilhelm, Alexandre Herchcovitz, Cosmic Wonder, Preen, Gareth Pugh and Jeremy Scott; Dunlin bags; gold totes by Rogues Gallery; and affordable gifty item curated by The Future Perfect.
