It's fitting that designer Tadashi Shoji, a Pasadena resident who's made a name for himself as a designer of evening wear for the contemporary market (Nordstrom, Saks, Bloomie's, Macy's, Neiman Marcus) would take on duties as creator of gowns for the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Royal Court '09.
Per the release, Rose Queen Courtney Lee will wear a white "liquid jersey v-neck gowns with basket weave detail," and the Rose Princesses with follow suit, but in Aubergine. Shoji has a long history with the Tournament of Roses, having designed the gowns before and "been involved" in some way for over ten years. You think the top hat fits over the crown? [RackedWire]
