Imperial Planet, which recently opened at 7473 Melrose Avenue, held a press conference this weekend with over 50 Miss California contestants and Miss California spokesperson, Shanna Moakler. “I love pageants,” she said, “and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to help the girls.”
Miss California USA Raquel Beezley and Miss Teen California USA Taylor Atkins stood around in their crowns, chatting with customers (their parents?) and press (Racked), discussing the roles and responsibilities that come with their titles.
Owner Jacques Artine said the concept of IP is to carry many designers like True Religion and 7 Jeans, as well as their own line, Artine & Planet. The store sponsors the pageants and is a favorite shopping spot for new state pageant director, Keith Lewis. He told Racked: “We love this store. It fits perfectly into our demographic, and the girls love it. We’re considered by far one of the best dressed states by Miss Universe pageants.”
IP will hold its grand opening some time in December. In the mean time, good to see the girls are doing their part in making us look good.
