We didn't know about these "upscale, gourmet" 7-Eleven concept stores, but we'd like to go ahead and put in a request for our nearby locations to be upgraded. Angelenic reports that the convenience chain will be putting in one of its upscale shops at the "southwest corner of 5th and Broadway, in the Shybarry Lofts' corner unit."
The frou-frou version of the grab-and-go store will sell produce and "feature plasma-screen TVs and an outdoor seating/patio area. Similar concepts in Austin, Texas, feature grilled panini sandwiches, baked items and fresh salads."
Not only that, five more of these Famima!!-esque (Angelenic's comparison) stores are planned for Downtown. No word on opening dates.
