Block Party: Tons of Free Valet for West 3rd Street Holiday Party Dec 4!

The West 3rd Street Business Association has steadily been working to increase the visibility and access to its stretch of retail, eats and other businesses along West 3rd, extending from La Cienega to Fairfax. The association's periodic block parties are part of the effort, involving 60-plus merchants, deals and freebies, and late-night shopping hours. The constant complaint we've heard from retailers and shoppers alike is the lack of parking in the area.

It may not be a permanent solution just yet, but at least for the West 3rd Street Holiday Party Thursday, December 4 from 6pm-9pm, the biz association is providing 10 valet stands between La Cienega and Fairfax between 5pm-9pm, at no cost to the driver (aside, of course, from tipping). You can drop your car off at any station and pick it up at any station, which adds to the convenience.

This is part of a larger proposal for Universal Valet Parking Service on the street. From the biz association: "If all goes well, we hope to make free Universal Valet permanent part of West Third in 2009!" Also note, there will be late-night shopping hours till 9pm Thursday, December 11 and 18 [RackedWire]
