After the Nicholai launch at Petro Zillia, we walked east on West 3rd over to EM & Co for the Vivienne Westwood trunk show. Seriously, we haven’t seen so many beautiful and fashionable people in one room—a well-lit room at that—in a while. The DJ was busy keeping the party going while guests waited in line at the Absinthe booth, the perfect combination of liquid and phonic courage to get people in the mood to spend in this economy, and spend they did! Vivienne Westwood lovers piled up their purchases with fierce excitement and no restraints. We really were surprised at the number of transactions that night, and wondered what people are, in fact, willing to spend their money on this holiday season.
