We're always happy to hear of new indie bookshops. A reader tips us to Diesel, A Bookstore, which opened in September at the Brentwood Country Mart. With shops in Oakland and Malibu and having been in the biz of books since 1989, the independent book haven describes itself this way: "Known for our fascinating selection of new and used titles, stunning author events, enthusiastically diverse staff, and urban California aesthetic, DIESEL is the cutting-edge, high octane, community-radiating, independent neighborhood bookstore we all dream of hanging out in, getting imaginally turned on in, and literarily inspired by."
