LA Fashion Week Weak on Celebs

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Yesterday, during the last day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, put on by Smashbox and IMG, one writer for a weekly was echoing what we'd heard all week from media sent to cover celebrities at the shows: "No one's here." Another said: "Guess I have to go talk to Bai Ling."

And then today, PR Newswire puts out a release regarding the star power at the Lana Fuchs "Rhapsody in Bloom" show Tuesday, noting "America's Next Top Model winners Saleisha Stowers [shown left] and Nicole Linkletter" walked the runway, and celeb attendees included "Joel Madden, Camille Anderson, Natasha Alam, Angela Simmons, Vanessa Simmons, Dominika Wolski, Lady Victoria Hervey, Pamela Bach, Julia Verdin, Crystal Allen, Simona Fusco, Inna Korobkina, Patricia DeLeon, LA Laker Lamar Odom, tennis professional Jan-Michael Gambill and celebrity stylist George Blodwell." We fell asleep at Joel and woke up on Lamar.

It's not the end though, shows continue at BoxEight Downtown.
