AT&T systems are currently down, which has stopped all iPhone activation at the moment. Repeat, there is no 3G selling going on at the moment! Apple stores had no ETA on when systems would be back up—could be later today, tommorrow?—"we just don't have any idea right now." [RackedWire]
Our list of Apple Stores have all models in stock today. The longest line reported was in Pasadena at a 1/2 hr. No lines at Glendale Galleria, and "very short" lines at The Grove, Beverly Center, 3rd Street Promenade and Century City. [Racked Wire]
Apple Store staffers seemed to be losing steam today on dealing with line inquiries. No line and all 3G models in stock at The Grove, Century City, and Glendale Galleria; two people in line at Beverly Center and a "very small line" in Pasadena with all models in stock; there was a line at the 3rd Street Promenade, but "it died down, though it will grow again"—all models available. [RackedWire]
Wow, this is momentous—no line at the Pasadena Apple Store! No line at three stores on our list in fact. Could it all end soon (we ask optimistically)? :
The Grove Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, 1/2 hr wait
Beverly Center Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, no line
Pasadena Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK. "For the first time that I've seen, there's no line, but that doesn't mean there won't be one by the time you get here."
3rd Street Promenade Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, 3 or 4 people in line
Glendale Galleria Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK. "There's a little line."
Century City Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, no line

While wait times and availability have both improved this week, the staff's interest in concretely answering the question, "How long is the wait?" seems to be dwindling fast:
The Grove Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, re: the lines, "It hasn't been that bad at all the last few days."
Beverly Center Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, five minute wait "hopefully"
Pasadena Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, thirty minute wait
3rd Street Promenade Apple Store: As of 8:09am, just rings and rings AGAIN!
Glendale Galleria Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, 40 people in line for vouchers
Century City Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, "We're not even quite open yet, so not sure about the line."
Though the 3rd Street Promenade peepes have gone MIA (who can blame them with all the chaos), lines have gotten at least a smidgen shorter today with 30 minute waits almost across the board:
The Grove Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, one hour wait
Beverly Center Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, 30 minute wait (at the most)
Pasadena Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, 30 minute wait
3rd Street Promenade Apple Store: Still closed, as of 8:18am. Have they run for the hills? They didn't pick up yesterday either!
Glendale Galleria Apple Store: Black 16 gig and white 16 gig in stock, "There's always a wait."
Century City Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, 30 minute wait
We're not gonna sugar coat it for you guys: things are looking a bit dire today. As of 8:20am, no wait is under 40 minutes, all phones are in stock (but supply is looking limited) and 3rd Street Promenade won't even pick up the phone anymore:
The Grove Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, 1 1/2 hour wait (eek)
Beverly Center Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, 45 minute wait
Pasadena Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, 1 1/2 wait, "If you're lucky."
3rd Street Promenade Apple Store: Just ringing and ringing, as of 8:20am
Glendale Galleria Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, 40 minute wait
Century City Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, 45 minute wait
While Pasadena may have been yesterday's best option, today it's looking like lamesville. What comes up, must come down, it seems. Head to the Beverly Center for a practically non-existent line:
The Grove Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, 15 minute wait
Beverly Center Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, 5 minute wait
Pasadena Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, an hour wait
3rd Street Promenade Apple Store: Have hours changed? There's a "closed" message on the store's voicemail as of 8:17am.
Glendale Galleria Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, salesperson says, "When I walked in this morning, there were already 30 people."
Century City Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, 5-10 minute wait
It's a Monday morning miracle: every single Apple store actually has all models in stock (a good omen for the week?), but almost everyone predicts that the black 16 gigs will be first to go. While the Pasadena store seems like the best bet right now, the line situation is relatively low key everywhere but 3rd Street Promenade:
The Grove Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, 20 minute wait
Beverly Center Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, less than 30 minute wait
Pasadena Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, 10 minute wait
3rd Street Promenade Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, one hour wait
Glendale Galleria Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, noncommittal: "moderate line, but it will get heavier throughout the day."
Century City Apple Store: ALL MODELS IN STOCK, 30 minute wait
