You know that enormous, empty parking lot across from Staples Center in DTLA's South Park? Back in October, our sister site Curbed LA revealed that the 4.6-acre plot of land purchased by Oceanwide Real Estate Group was set to become a 49-story residential/hotel tower called the North Tower. In addition to hosting a "celebrity chef restaurant," the megaproject will also feature a "super-fancy hotel on the bottom section of the tower" with a nightclub. Rumor has it that it's going to be a gigantic Cavalli Club.
DTLA real estate blogger Brigham Yen shares that a tipster sent him the juicy news, adding that the Roberto Cavalli-inspired megaclub—founded in Dubai and expanded to Miami, Milan, and Ibiza—is slated to be "a major attraction as part of Fig Central's new hotel tower."
As you'll see here, the unapologetically gaudy Cavalli Club has attracted a slew of celebrity partygoers, so we're going to go ahead and assume that the space will see many awards show afterparties. Fingers crossed that the spot's fist-pumping douchebag factor is minimal.
