For the past 13 years, Minnie T's has championed avant-garde designers both local and global at its Abbot Kinney boutique, long before insider-beloved essential shops like Heist and Guild invaded the too-cool shopping stretch. Always one to buck a trend, the longtime Venice resident is ditching the buzzing GQ-approved block and moving its edgy, artistically-designed wares to Santa Monica this month.
Minnie T's staff tells us they're relocating to an approximately 1,200-square-foot space (not far from clothing swap shop Give+Take) that boasts exposed brick walls, sustainably-sourced wood accents and eco-friendly furniture. The move will allow owner and buyer Barbara Phillips to stock even more cult-cool, against-the-grain labels; currently, she offers brands like Rick Owens, Gary Graham and LA's own Raquel Allegra, Calvin Rucker and Riller & Fount; plus hard-to-find lines from Japan, Italy and France. They expect to reopen next Saturday, August 16.
