Since we're already on the topic of little people fashion, here's more kid's style news for your Monday. As Footwear News notes, Ashleigh Dempster and Matt George saw a need for stylish, comfortable footwear options for their son—so they decided to take it up themselves and start Akid, a new line of unisex sneakers, boots and moccasins for tots.
The new venture made sense for the LA-based couple; Dempster is a self-professed "shoe fanatic," while George has extensive experience in the streetwear and sneakerhead worlds, in addition to serving as a consultant to Kanye West on the rapper's womenswear line. Many brands "just take their best-selling silhouette and reduce the size without actually thinking of kids' feet," George tells the fashion trade pub. In the article, the couple also raves about their home turf, calling out WeHo vegan Mexican resto Gracias Madre as "very kid-friendly" for its "huge patio, plus the food is healthy and delicious."
Priced from $50 to $95, the range also featured "super-soft leathers (allowing for sock-free wear) and toddler-friendly zippers." Take a peek at a few of the ridiculously adorable kicks after the jump and shop the pint-sized pairs online here.
