Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
As we wrap up another Racked Awards, it's a good time to check in with some past-year winners to see how they've faired since scoring our coveted golden turban. 2012's Best New Store star Cerre has clearly been killing it, earning nods from both MoMA and Vogue for innovative collections and lookbooks.
Their spring/summer 2014 range, inspired by designers Clayton and Flavie Webster's memories at the beaches of Southern France and the Japanese coast, is another home run. Rather poetically, they tell us that "tranquillity, isolation and contemplation," are key here, illustrated by a color palette that mimics "the fog covered sea and the pure sand beaches. The smooth leather contrasts with the flowing silk as a breeze skims across the ocean and sand."
Experience the collection above (we're loving Clayton's custom print collaged from his and Flavie's personal photos), watch the collection video here and look out for it when it hits the Cerre's essential Melrose boutique in February.
