Welcome back to Neighborhood Style Showdown, our quest to determine LA's most stylish neighborhood.
The Third Street Promenade. Image via Yelp
One neighborhood is by the sea, the other is land-locked, but both of these contenders are prime tourist destinations. On one hand you have Santa Monica, where shoppers can stroll the 3rd Street Promenade, Fred Segal, the Montana/Wilshire areas and Santa Monica Place. The pace is easy, the weather is breezy and there are plenty of places to buy cut-off shorts and flip flops.
Santa Monica's competition, Hollywood, has an edgier feel. Of course travelers will always flock to Hollywood Boulevard and its junk shops, but the area is also home to gallery-like retail space Just One Eye, crazy shop/club Freak City and Lost & Found, a collection of five quirky storefronts on Yucca. And let's not forget about Hollywood's nightlife scene and all the tight dresses and super-high heels that go along with it.
