Downtown Women's Center (DWC) is an organization that helps homeless and low-income women get back on their feet, offering permanent housing as well as a drop-in center with free hot meals and counseling services. Last year around the holidays, DWC's founders opened the MADE by DWC Café and Gift Shop, a boutique that features products like hand-poured soy wax candles created by Center residents. This year, they are back with a second store, the MADE by DWC Resale Boutique.
The Resale Boutique will sell high-end vintage and modern women's clothing, accessories and household items as well as one-of-a-kind handmade products crafted by the ladies of the center. A hundred percent of proceeds generated by these handmade items will go to programs and services at DWC.
The boutique's grand opening celebration is Thursday, November 29 from 9am to 7pm, and will begin with opening remarks and end with an evening cocktail reception. For more information and to find out how to attend the open house, click here.—Stephanie Chan
