Although fashion designer Tracy Reese hails from the East Coast, there's something about her that feels very LA. Her laid-back demeanor, sunshine smile, happy floral prints, and Cali garden colors seem right at home here, which is why we were floored when the designer revealed to us that she hasn't been to LA in three years. "That's crazy to me because I used to visit all the time! I love it here," she adds.
Reese's new collaboration with Clos du Bois must be a subconscious response to her West Coast withdrawals, because we think it's the perfect accessory for an LA spring. She's teamed up with the Sonoma County winery to create a unique picnic basket adorned in one of her iconic patterns and packed with Clos du Bois wine and accessories. Cute, right? The item's name is clever, too: Clos du Bois Chic Picnique by Tracy Reese.
The new warm-weather essential was front row and center yesterday as the designer and her pals Mena Suvari, Kate Mara, Emma Roberts, and Busy Philipps gathered at the Viceroy Santa Monica Hotel to clink glasses in honor of the launch. "The basket is meant to inspire a wonderful time," Reese notes. "Whether you take it to a party, the park, or simply your rooftop, the idea is to enjoy it with loved ones and create a great moment."
