We just recently discovered What Katie Did, a supercute new lingerie store on Melrose. Conveniently enough, they're practically right across the street from Agent Provocateur. Walk inside, and it's deja vu all over again: like AP, their aesthetic is vintag- inspired, and the undewear is designed to create that va-va-voom silhouette. But unlike AP, you can walk into What Katy Did with a mere franklin and walk out with a few items in your bag (bras start at $47, and panties start in the twenty dollar range). And What Katie Did also has bra sizes up to 40 GG. That's a whole lot of woman.
The bras range from being functional enough for everyday wear to a little outrageous -- like a couple of different styles of cone bras. WKD also carries a selection of corsets, panties, and stockings (in fact, the company got its start in hosiery). To help you complete your pinup girl look, the store carries Besame Cosmetics, a company that's also all up in the vintage theme. And to get you really in the mood -- to open your wallet and buy these glamorous throwbacks, that is -- the store also pipes in music from the era and supplies customers with chocolate.
