If you didn't know, there's an after-show for The Hills every single week. We'd never watched it—it looks annoying and horrible—but we watched it Monday night to see the unveiling of the preview of The City, the spin-off in which MTV follows Whitney Port as she works in PR for Diane von Furstenberg and leads a fabulous NYC life.
There's dating drama, and the clip sets up some sort of tension between socialite Olivia Palermo (also working for DVF) and Port as she looks at her sideways in the office and then eyes her across the table at some rooftop dinner. But we didn't see anything of DVF, which is the thing that could be potentially really interesting about this. On the other hand, we don't see DVF pimping herself out for reality TV. She's a savvy business woman and likely assessed the benefits of bringing a Port-aged crowd to her label, but probably won't be going out of her way to give a ton of face-time. We really would love a view into the inner-workings of DVF's biz, however.
As far as the after-show, never again.
