Indie Los Feliz bookstore Skylight Books is getting closer to opening its second space next door. Per the store's newsletter: "Our new space next door is ALMOST ready—at least for a 'soft', gentle opening...we're expanding the bookstore by moving our books on art, architecture, design, music, film, fashion, theatre and magazines—to a newly renovated storefront next door at 1814 N. Vermont!" The grand opening will be in August, but in the meantime the shop's looking for volunteers to help move books: "we don't want to close the store, so it will happen after the store closes at 10pm and could go way into the night...We can offer pizza, good company and your name etched in L.A. literary history (we mean that literally, displayed on a plaque on our new walls). Contact me if you'd like to join us (date tbd): kerry@skylightbooks.com." Staffing is also still in progress for the new shop. [Racked Inbox]
