Now Open: Twenty Two Shoes on West 3rd Street
Monday, May 12, 2008, by Tasha

A few weeks ago, we posted that San Francisco-based Twenty Two Shoes was opening on West 3rd Street, taking the spot of Left Coast Galleries. We popped in a few days before the men's and women's boutique opened its doors this past Friday, just as owners and husband-and-wife team Chris and Alexandra Silverman were getting things set up. At 350-square-feet, the space feels plenty big with high-ceilings, 100-year-old repurposed wood from a sawmill in Fort Bragg to display merch, and vintage furnishings. The shop carries the full line of men's and women's shoes, plus handbags; for spring, shoes range from $190-$375 and bags run $250-$500.

The couple has quite a history in the area already, having sold its shoes at Douglas Fir and having previously sold Sigerson Morrison shoes in its SF and Oakland shops (before exclusively carrying its Twenty Two Shoes label). Not only that, Chris' brother, Adam Silverman, sells his Atwater Pottery at OK across the street. It's a nice addition to the stretch of retail, a complement to DF Feet and Sigerson, and a bit more reasonably-priced, in terms of footwear options in the neighborhood.
