Prized Merchandising: Madley Boutique, An Eclectic Feminine Wonderland
Friday, May 9, 2008, by Tasha

While some shops throw merch on the racks, others take their visual merchandising quite seriously, curating each space to perfection—those particular shops get our Prized Merchandising gold star.

We've always had a warm and fuzzy spot for LA-based label Madley and its designer Coryn Madley, who creates incredibly chic knitwear and jewelry, which jangles with seashells, feathers, semi-precious stones, crystals and lots of vintage finds. Her Abbot Kinney shop reflects her eclectic, feminine style, but also has a feeling of everything being placed just so—from earrings and necklaces hung on branches to feathers tucked in a swan-shaped vase. The boutique is immaculate and is a wonderland to browse, especially since you can find surprisingly reasonable merch—she carries labels such as Smoke & Mirrors as well—as low at $40. "People think it's higher-end than it is," Madley told Racked, and you see why in the sumptuousness displayed even on the boutique walls and dressing rooms, decorated with textural creations. "It's not for everybody," she continued, "but the people who like it, really love it."
