The Army-Navy Surplus store on Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake is not f*cking around. Maybe it's an effort to ward off all those threatening hipsters and hipsters-with-kids milling about. On the other hand, maybe scary-soldier-man is trying to woo the headless female mannequin in the pink camo ensemble beside him. Whatever it is, we're reminded of all those reasons why entering the military was never one of our post-high school possibilities. The uniform. Guns. The whole combat thing.
