FAIRFAX—Next week, Nordstrom at The Grove (189 The Grove Drive) celebrates Beauty Trend Week: a week's worth of master classes, tips from pros, and stocking up on samples from our fave beauty brands. For its kickoff on Sunday, the department store's beautifying offerings include 3pm and 6pm "Feeling Flawless" workshops by cosmetics company Laura Mercier that focuses on putting your best face (literally) forward, an intimate one-on-one tutorial on techniques from Trish McEvoy, Arcona spa room facials between 10am and 6pm, and so much more. Talk to a beauty adviser in store for more details or to book your free appointment and stay tuned for more events through the week.
SAN PEDRO—Have you been slaving over a handmade Halloween costume? In addition to getting to show off your hard work, take a shot at winning $100 for your creation by spending your holiday afternoon at Crafted! in the Port of Los Angeles (Warehouse No. 10, 112 E 22nd Street). Saturday from 12-3pm head to the 1940's vintage warehouse to enter the contest and you can also indulge in a little trick-or-treating, decorate cookies, and make seasonal crafts at the Creation Stations.
KOREATOWN—If you're planning on partying until the wee hours Saturday night—and thus waking up hella hangry Sunday morning—traveling food party Rice & Shine will be your saving grace. Chef AC Boral brings his Filipino soul food to Lock & Key (239 Vermont Avenue) for a late brunch from 4-8pm, which means you can sleep in. Those who roll in still wearing last night's costume will even be rewarded with an order of Hangover Toast. That's right; they're rewarding your laziness. RSVP for all the yumminess here.
