Back in May 2013, we revealed that Saint Laurent opened a temporary store at 469 North Rodeo Drive to hold loyal customers over while its permanent location at 326 North Rodeo Drive underwent a massive renovation. More than a year later, the musician- and local legend-beloved fashion house's new shop is finally set to be unveiled this September—and it's going to be Saint Laurent's largest.
Wall Street Journal reports that the brand's LA-obsessed creative director Hedi Slimane is putting all his energy into this Rodeo store, which will offer three stories and 10,000 square feet of rock-inspired womenswear. (He even designed the space himself without the help of a consulting architect.) "The top floor will be devoted to VIP dressing—with a back entrance in an alley for celebrities," WSJ adds. "Up the block will be a 6,300-square-foot men's store on the site of the brand's current LA flagship."
Due to Slimane's "shift in focus toward LA's chic cultural scene" sparked by his official move to our city in 2012, the publication adds that "the new Los Angeles store is expected inside the company to move more product than any other Saint Laurent boutique." In other words, Angelenos will likely get first dibs on Saint Laurent's bestsellers (moto jackets, shoes, bags), so we suggest keeping your sales associate on speed dial.
